Working Against Cancer was founded in 2001, based on an idea from a 20 year old cancer patient. The organization originated as a mentor program for young adults and adolescent cancer patients and survivors. WAC is currently expanding its mentor program by including self-evaluation tools, academic and vocational scholarships, and career opportunity referrals. Our vision is to be a world class organization that helps adolescent and young adults move beyond their cancer diagnosis, treatment, and post treatment “stressors” to lead enjoyable and independent lives by maximizing life possibilities.
